v167 - June 23, 2026 Update

Release 167 includes several new features and usability improvements across 4D EMR. This release includes a new Laser Hair Treatment Table, a number of reporting updates, insurance billing improvements, and three new integration partners: Signature Forms, MedGEO, and Simple Optimum Solutions.

Release Highlights

Treatment Table - Hair Laser

A new Laser Hair Treatment Table is now available under Patients > Clinical > Treatment Tables > Laser Hair. The table is designed to capture treatment details for laser hair removal services configured in Practice > Products > Product List.

Chart notes can be generated directly from the table using the +Chart Note button. These notes are signed automatically by the user who creates them. If the note type requires a provider co-signature, it will be sent to the provider for review.

Preferred Language added to Portal and Leads

The Health Information Form can now be configured to prompt patients to select their preferred language. This option can be enabled by going to Practice > Settings > Patients > Portal Options. The patient's preferred language is displayed and changed in the patient's detailed profile.

Nourish Leads have also been updated to include a Preferred Language option.

Report Updates

Appointment Type Summary and Patient Export - Appointment Subtype Filter

The Appointment Type Summary report and the Patient Export report have been updated to include Appointment Subtypes in the Appointment Type filter. Appointment Subtypes are configured at the bottom of the Appointment Type Details screen under Practice > Admin > Scheduling > Appointment Types.

Unearned Revenue Reports and Earned Revenue Reports - Excel Friendly Export

The Unearned Revenue and Earned Revenue reports have been updated to include an Excel friendly export. These versions of the reports are formatted for Excel to allow additional filtering and calculations.

Once generated, export the report in XLSX format using the export button.

Patient Export Report - Billing Type Filter

The Patient Export report has been updated to include a new filter for Billing Type. This can be used to generate lists of Cosmetic vs Insurance patients.

Patients are flagged as insurance when adding insurance payor information to their chart. A patient's billing type can be changed using the "Bill Insurance" checkbox located in "Optional Fields" on the patient's detailed profile.

Cost of Goods Report - 'Display By' Setting

The Cost of Goods report now includes a Display By dropdown that groups results by 'Provider', 'Location', or 'Both'. This allows the report to be filtered to include summaries only by location or provider if needed.

Insurance Improvements

Create Invoice Automatically when collecting Copays

A new setting enables automatic invoice generation when collecting payments through the Copay or Insurance tiles. This replaces a two-step process where insurance payments were left unapplied until an invoice was manually created to balance the account. The setting can be found under Practice > Billing > Settings > Other Settings.

Sending Claims for Non-Providers

Claims can now be created for staff who are not configured as providers in 4D EMR. Previously, claim creation was limited to provider users, requiring a manual workaround in OpenPM to assign the correct mid-level providers, such as nurse practitioners, CRNAs, and physician assistants. This update removes that extra step, allowing claims to be created and synced directly for non-provider staff.

To sync claims for mid-level providers, provider mapping in OpenPM will need to be updated. Incorrect or missing mapping will create duplicate providers in OpenPM. For instructions on mapping a provider, refer to our knowledge base article: OpenPM Setup: Mapping a New Provider.
