What is OpenPM?

OpenPM is the Billing and Claims management software that 4D EMR integrates with. Utilizing the 4D EMR-OpenPM integration allows you to take advantage of OpenPM’s built-in Clearinghouse, AR Management, and advanced analytics to manage your insurance billing.

How do we get started with OpenPM?

If you are interested in utilizing OpenPM, a demo can be scheduled. Please contact 4D EMR support for a link.

Do you have any Billing Services or other options?

Outsourced full-service insurance billing services are also available through The Actus Group.  Auctus uses the OpenPM clearing house as their main claims management tool and is expert in working with 4D EMR integrated with OpenPM. You may contact Auctus at 708-966-3025.

Alternatively, you may use the native 4D EMR encounter form generation report to provide claims/billing information to the biller of your choice.

What is the general process?

Once you have signed up with OpenPM, they will create an OpenPM database for you. They will also provide vendor access to 4D EMR support to configure the integration.  Once the integration has been completed and your office has met certain training requirements in 4D, training on the OpenPM integration can be scheduled.

What 4D EMR configuration should I do to prepare for Insurance Billing?

Appointment Types

It is recommended that your office create Insurance specific appointment types.

Insurance List

In most cases, it is recommended to configure your insurance list in OpenPM initially. This will help you begin the Enrollment process. Additionally, the OpenPM insurance list can be imported into 4D eliminating the need to double-enter your beginning list. Instructions on adding new payors will be provided during training.

Fee Schedules

Fee schedules should be configured in OpenPM. Their interface allows for multiple fee schedules, multipliers, and payor-based schedules to be configured. Creating claims in 4D with a $0 fee will allow the OpenPM fee schedule configuration to dictate your billing.

ICD10 Favorites

A list of favorite ICD10 codes can be created in 4D. This favorite list will display as a dropdown when creating claims. Without a favorites list, the ICD10 code must be manually typed into claims.
