4D EMR integrates with Dr. First to provide electronic prescription services. In order to comply with Federal regulations, industry standards, and ensure e-prescribing services are only accessed by appropriate users, each provider enrolling for e-precscribe for controlled subnstances (EPCS) is required to go through an online identity proofing process. 4D EMR has no control over the e-prescribe registration and/or identity proofing process.
Once the below ID.me verification process is complete, 4D EMR staff will trigger an email from the Dr. First system to the provider that will enable the provider to use the ID.me credentials to complete the identity proofing requirement withing the Dr. First system
Please note, the verification process can only be completed by the provider who is requesting to set up e-Prescribing. There is not a way to complete the verification process on a provider’s behalf.
The below has been copied from the ID.me help center.
Sign in or create an ID.me account
If you have an ID.me account, sign in using your email address and password. You may already have an ID.me account if you created one for another EPCS or eRx software, another ID.me partner such as the IRS, or for an ID.me community, such as a nurse or medical provider.
If you don’t have an ID.me account, create one to continue. To create a new ID.me account:
- Enter your personal email address and password, then select Create account.
- Confirm your email address. For more information, visit Confirming your email address.
- Set up multi-factor authentication (MFA) to further protect your account. For step-by-step instructions for setting up MFA, select one of the following MFA methods:

Verify your identity
To access EPCS and eRx, you’ll first need to verify your identity using ID.me. If you’ve verified your identity in the past, and are not prompted to verify again, continue to Medical provider check. Otherwise, to verify your identity:
- Choose a verification method by selecting which photo ID you'd like to upload. Acceptable documents include driver’s license, state ID, passport, and passport card.

- Take and submit a video selfie.
- Enter your Social Security Number if you are creating a new account.
