- Due to the small screen size some features are disabled:
- Financial Transactions (Ledgers and Money)
- Viewing documents such as scanned documents, consents, and Medical History forms
Internet Connection Speed/Bandwidth
Internet performance can vary significantly depending on several factors, including:
- Number of active users

- Network hardware performance
- Individual workstation capabilities
The table below provides a general guideline for bandwidth requirements based on typical usage:
- Basic browsing and text-based websites: 1-5 Mbps.
- Streaming HD videos: 5-10 Mbps.
- Streaming 4K videos: 20-50 Mbps or more.
Note: Uploading images and videos requires higher bandwidth for optimal performance.
Internet Browser
4D EMR is optimized for the most recent version of Chrome and Safari and browsers.
- New provider registration for ePrescribing must be completed using Chrome
- Other browsers such as Edge, Firefox, Opera, etc. may work for some features, but are not officially supported.
Document Scanning
Windows: Scanner with Twain driver.
- Twain drivers are usually available on manufacturer’s websites. If a twain driver is not available for the desired scanner, files can be scanned to the local computer and imported into patient records.

- Built-in webcams and microphones in laptops, tablets, and smartphones work very well.
