Releases 142 and 143 contain significant and highly requested improvements to charting, TEPE, and new patients. Some notable changes are:
  • The ability to insert any previous chart note into the new note
  • A new hotkey for the 'Go To *' tool
  • The ability to customize the automatic text generated in the History of Present Illness
  • The ability to suppress the Health Information Form for non-surgical providers
  • Configurable required fields for New Patients

Charting Improvements
New Insert Note tool replacing Last Note
The Last Note button in the Write Notes toolbar has been replaced with a new Insert Note button. Clicking this button will display a listing of previous notes written for this patient that can be inserted into the New Note.
New Hotkey for Go To *
A new hotkey of F4 has been added for the 'Go To *' feature. The 'Go To *' feature allows you to include the placeholder character * in chart note templates. After inserting the template into your chart note, you can either click the 'Go To *' button or press the F4 button to jump to the next placeholder *. The placeholder * will automatically be deleted, allowing you to quickly insert patient-specific text.
Customizing the default text generated for HPI
The default text automatically generated in the History of Present Illness of the Wizard is pulled from the Health Information Form filled out by the patient. It is now possible to enable certain questions for the Health Information Form without including them in the HPI. 

The questions asked on the Health Information form are configured by going to Practice > Settings > Portal > Portal Options. When enabled, some questions will now include a secondary option to include in HPI. This option is not available for all questions. 

Suppressing Health Information Form based on Patient Provider
By default, the Health Information form is required by all providers. This option should only be changed for providers who do not see surgical patients, such as aestheticians. 

Providers can be configured to not require a Health Information form by going to Practice > Admin > Doctors and Staff, clicking on the provider, and then unchecking the 4D Health Info Form checkbox.

Patients with this provider will no longer have the Health Information Form automatically added to their TEPE account. The patient's default provider is set when creating the patient and can be changed from their profile. 

New Patient Required Fields
New options to require DOB, phone number, or email have been added. These options can be configured by going to Practice > Settings > Patients > Patient Settings.
